We will go further than most "about" pages, because on a site about not being fooled, you are entitled to run our own checks on us. So here is the honest version of who we are and how we are funded, and you should hold us to it.

We are not marketers. We are not a growth agency. We are not gurus with a system to sell you. We are people who run small businesses, writing down what we worked out about an ecosystem that is stacked against the honest operator. We have nothing to upsell you at the end of this, because there is no end of a funnel here. That admission is not a weakness on a site like this. It is the point of it, because the whole subject is people who pretend to be something they are not.

The proof is in how this site is built

Anyone can claim independence. So we built the proof into the site itself. ReputationKiln collects no email address and runs no lead magnet. It has no gate and nothing to sign up for. It uses honest, minimal cookie consent, with no "accept all" trick that harvests what you never agreed to. It carries no third-party tracking and no advertising pixels. What we stand against is the manipulation, and the people who profit by frightening an honest owner in their worst week.

Who is accountable, and how we work

ReputationKiln is published by Kiln Guides and is written and edited by the ReputationKiln Editorial team. Every legal point, figure and enforcement case is traced to a primary source, dated, and logged, and we keep a public record of corrections, fixed in the open when we get something wrong. We describe the machine and name no individual platform as a wrongdoer; where a regulator or a court has already acted, we point to their finding and link it, rather than restating it as our own accusation. That rule is not timidity. It is what lets one honest method speak to six countries at once and stay accurate, which is the only thing that makes it worth citing.

How this stays independent

Most advice aimed at small businesses is quietly paid for by the very people the advice is about, which is exactly how it ends up soft on them. This is built the other way round. The funding behind it never buys a say over a word of what it publishes, and editorial independence is the line that does not move. You do not have to take that on faith: the absence of a sponsor, an advertiser or an affiliate link anywhere on this site is how you can see the line is held.
